Over the weekend, we had severe storms and tornadoes in our area, but we rode them out with God's protection. We all had a little hail damage to vehicles, etc., but nothing compared to others in the area who lost both homes and lives. We continue to get reports on the news of more storm survivor stories, and they are truly incredible. Whole neighborhoods were simply wiped out in a matter of seconds. It was a very intense afternoon, but we did have some comic relief during the storm by trying to get all of us - including 3 cocker spaniels and 2 cats - into the "safe" closet! But, again, God was watching over us and all of Legacy Five and our families are safe. We need to continue to remember those who are less fortunate than we are in our prayers.
Roger was home over the weekend, due to a lingering virus of his own, and then a new stomach bug was making its way around the L5 bus, so he was unable to join them. Hopefully, after a few days' recovery for all of them, they will be whole again when they set out after the Easter break. I think it would be mighty hard to keep Roger home again...he got used to being out these past few weekends, and he is so looking forward to the California/West Coast trip coming up. His blood counts are continuing to recover, and his doctors are pleased with those results. We think his last bout with fever was a viral thing, and from all indications, his body was making a valiant effort to fight the infection on its own, so that is wonderful news.
As we prepare to celebrate the risen Christ during this Easter season, we are mindful of the great sacrifice that He made so that we might have life. And what an abundant life He has bestowed upon us! We have so much to be thankful for. Our blessings just keep pouring in. Let us not lose sight of the true meaning of this blessed holiday, and may we always give thanks that we are
In His Grip,
Debbie
