Oh, Roger and Debbie -- what awesome news. Recuperating is always so much better when you are at "home".
Having the Christmas tree up and music playing always lifts my spirit.
I'm praying the healing time for you is quick and that God will abundantly bless you.
Thank you for being so faithful in your posts.. It is a blessing to all of us.

I don't personally know you, and you don't know me, but I love quartet music, and I keep up with you via your webpage, AND the Times Dispatch. So glad you're able to leave the hospital, and praying that your recovery is swift.

Debbie,

It's been a "Monday" all the way around today. This entry was the best thing I've read online all day long. IT set my mood and made me smile to hear you guys were able to come "home" (well, to the apartment anyway).

I will keep you two in my pryaers that things go as they're supposed to go. If anything-I believe you two are one of the best "tag teams" I've ever "seen". Hang in there.
We know that "all things work togther for good...." And the music Roger carries with him blesses the hearts of QUITE a few folks around this planet. God's still got work for you guys to do-but for now; rest up-watch a little football....take naps, read, whatever. But the one thing to remember is we're all praying for you guys.

God's just Amazing. Wow, huh?!
I mean WOW.

So glad to hear you are at your"home away from home"!!!! God is soooo good!!! We pray for you daily and my daughter, Ma'Kel, is pobably really tired of hearing stories from Southern Baptist!!! I started telling her about how afraid you were of frogs and she finished the story for me, so I knew that I needed to remember some other good times from SBC!!! HA. I think of you alot and miss the two of you.
Love Always,
Donna

ROGER & DEBBIE,

SO GLAD TO HEAR FROM - AND SUCH GOOD NEWS! THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR FAITHFULNESS IN YOUR POSTS.

YES, "HOME" AND THE CHRISTMAS TREE & NORMAL SURROUNDINGS ARE ALWAYS A WELCOMED SIGHT. JUST HAD THE SECOND OF MY CARPAL TUNNEL SURGERIES YERSTERDAY MORNING (BOTH VERY SUCCESSFUL) SO PLEASE EXCUSE MY ONE-HANDED TYPING IF I MISS A TYPO.

WE CONTINUE TO PRAY THAT THIS WILL NOW BE THE ROAD TO RECOVERY AND ROGER'S RETURN TO L5.

GOD BLESS YOU BOTH AS WE CONTINUE TO PRAY AND HOLD THOSE ROPES.

Thanks for the update. This is a day of mixed feelings for me. I rejoice in the news from Houston and my prayers remain with you.

My older brother was supposed to have surgery to remove a malignant tumor this morning. Last night the doctor met with the family and said the latest scan revealed spots in the lungs and liver. He is at peace with this news. He is a Christian and plans to enjoy whatever time he has remaining, which should be several months.

Thank God for His presence that surrounds us with love and comfort in difficult times.

Peggy

Home, sweet home-away-from-home. That's great news, Debbie! Love and prayers, Peggy

Debbie

I think you just got one of your best Christmas "presents" for this year a bit early - - having Roger "home" already. Your news is so wonderful. We are, of course, praying for both of you as well as Chelsea and Jordan.

May God continue to watch over the Bennett family, and keep you held firmly in His loving hands.

Vicky, for the rest of the Schnorbuses & all of the Wilsons.

Dave Campbell

Roger & Debbie,

It's great to hear the good news. Knowing you for a number of years, all I can say is, it's good you're not being treated for "craziness", or they might never let you go home!! (Just a little humor there).

We pray for both of you, day and night, whenever the Lord brings you to mind. We ask for God's continued touch in body and spirit.

Praise the Lord, He is good!!

Ron Bishop

PTL!!!!
What an awesome God we serve and how He answers our prayers. I pray you both rest and recuperate on your road to recovery. I am in such a positive mood today. God has blessed almost everywhere I turn. This great news for you and yesterday was my 5th anniversary for removing the tumor from my body. I know I am not completely out of the woods but it is a milestone nonetheless. In five years I expect to be sitting "in the front rooooow", as Bob Ueker would say, at a Legacy 5 concert praising God and listening to my favorite pianist and group. God is good, He's good all the time, even in the tough times. Continue to progress as we continue to pray. See you in 5 years at that Legacy 5 concert or much sooner I hope.

Blessings friends,

Ron

Praise the Lord, that Roger is well enough to leave the hospital. I am sure he will rest better in the apt. than he was in the hospital. Praying for you both during this time. Thanks for the update, Debby.

nina minton

Debbie,
Thanks for the update. I know you can both rest better at the apartment than at the hospital. I am praying that things will go well enough for you to remain there and that Roger's recovery will be speedy. Our God is so awesome. Just keep holding to His promises and He will protect and heal in His time.

Love in Christ,
Nina Minton

What I'm Reading Right Now

  • Ron Mehl: What God Whispers in the Night

Ron Mehl: What God Whispers in the Night
Ron Mehl is a hero that I never met. A friend gave me this book a couple of years ago and it really touched me. Ron was suffering with Leukemia and had written several wonderful books before this one "Whispers" really got to me. The main thought is why is it that God who IS light, who created light, does so much of his work in the dark? The answer, because that's where WE are. We struggle in darkness, our weakness is more pronounced in the darkness and we feel so alone in our darkness. But....God is not intimidated by the dark! He invades it and speaks to us there! You should read this book asap. (*****)
