Brrrrr! It's cold in Tennessee right now! Of course, I am sure if you are reading this from Minnesota or any other "Way North" states, you are laughing at me. When we lived in Ohio, I would probably have laughed, too. It's amazing how the blood thins when you don't live in a cold climate. Nonetheless, I could head for Florida within the hour, given half a chance!
Speaking of the harsh weather, please be in prayer for me Thurs-Sat, as I head toward a not-so-friendly climate for a volunteer courier trip. I have been on several trips that I haven't written about, and I am still loving having the opportunity to serve in this way. I thank God for bringing this ministry into my life....and at the perfect timing (but would He have done it any other way?). It may not be a ministry that is public, or one where I can outwardly express my beliefs, but it is one that gives me a peace, and a communion with God in a way I wouldn't have thought possible. I know there are still those around me who don't really understand WHY it means so much to me, or who might think I am just "traveling", but GOD knows my heart, and that is all that matters.
Besides the cold, we are doing pretty well. I guess there will always be "up and down" times, and the holidays bring those home more than other times. There will certainly always be struggles and challenges to face.......BUT, it is good to know that we serve a God Who CAN and WILL be there in ALL the times we face - not just the good. Nor is He a God Who is only there to "swoop in" and rescue us from danger. He cares EVERY day. He laughs with us when we are happy; He cries with us when we are sad; He guides our paths in ways we will never see; He speaks to us in big and small ways. He is a LIVING GOD, and His desire is to always keep us lovingly
In His Grip!
