Roger and Debbbie,
I know that it must have helped some to sleep in your own beds for just a night or two. Happy anniversary to Legacy Five on Friday night this week. Remember that we pray for you daily.

Hi Roger and Debbie,

You continue to be in the prayers of all in Maine and the Maritime Provinces who listen to WHCF FM88.5. Thank you both for your testimonies of your faith in the One Who Is There in all our life circumstances. You help keep our faith in the Lord strong. God bless, Roger Jackson

Roger & Debbie,

I am so thankful that we serve a God who can not be shaken. I am thankful that even when every thing else around us is shaking that He also is the Prince of Peace. We are praying that in very shaking times that our unshakeable Lord grants you that sweet and perfect peace. As always, our prayers are with you and your family. We are praying that 2006 will be a year of miracles for you and for your healing.

Because of His Mercy,

Rev. Gary, Lori, Alex, Tucker, Makayla, and Bennett Fowler Jones

Just wanted to tell you that you are in my families thoughts and prayers but we know that you are firmly in the Grip of the One who heals and love us. We wish the blessings of Christ for you and your family in 2006.

Bernie and Terry Shirkie

Dear Roger, So nice that you will be in your own home for even a few days.! I think this is a real benefit for you. Such a long haul you have had and still your faith is shining through and your love for the Lord is burning brightly. Weak in body , strong in spirit. We admire this so much.
11 Corinthians 12:9: And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Love Bernie and Terry

Roger & Debbie,

Just wanted to take a minute to say that you and your family, as well as all of the Legacy 5 family, are in both our thoughts and prayers.

The Lord is using you, yet again, to shine forth through your unbelievable testimony.

We were so pleased to read that Roger will be able to be with the guys on Friday night for this special time. Enjoy yourself mightily, but do be careful and don't over tax yourself.

We will keep praying and holdin' those ropes, as always.

Roger, I just want to thank you for teaching me what putting your faith in Christ is all about. You have been one of the greatest wittnesses to me as you have traveled this journey and I have learned bible verses, and have experienced personal growth with Christ thur these meditations. Thank you and may 2006 be an awesome year. Love to you and your family and L5 family, KY friend Becky

Between your Journal, Roger, and the updates on Colby from the Crist family, it is again apparent that "our God is an awesome God." And anyone who doesn't believe it has only to follow the events in your life as well as the ones in that precious 9-year-old's progress from tragic accident to almost full recovery. As all of us know, how WONDERFUL is the God we so willingly serve. Just please be sure you let Debbie and the others take care of you (my husband didn't like that either), and we'll be seeing you at the L5 Celebration 2006 in May!! Looking forward to it.

Hi Roger and family,
So good to hear from you. Life is such a gift and full of surprises. Just when we think we have it all in some kind of order there is CHANGE. It's so wonderful God is in complete control as He was Yesterday, Today, and Forever. Happy 2006.
In His Love,
Ann Woodward

This is my first time to send you a message, however I have followed your ministry for many years. Your physical trial has touched me deep inside and as I was pondering "why you" it was as if the lord said: "it's because HE knew that you would be faithful to let HIM use you to effect HIS purpose and change in many people through your trial. The way you and your wife have handled the many ups, downs and unknowns in your crisis has demonstrated to the body of Christ how we all should behave in our own life situations. You have demonstrated the behavior and character of a true christian as a model of how we all should act in our own lives. You are a living example of the song "FACES" that Rodney of Greater Vision Wrote.

Thank you so much for being obedient to the faith as a living example to all of us. It makes me want to continue fighting the good fight.

Never Give Up!

Dear Bennetts,
God uses all kind of circumstances to make us realize
how vital He is in our lives, doesn't HE. Today I went to the funeral of a cousin of mine who buried his only living son. He was 60 on Dec. 19th. At the cemetery the preacher commented that Larry had known the Lord as a young man but had not stayed close in his latter years!! How tragic this statement was to our hearts. And Roger, I think knowing HIM is the most important thing for any of us, as I know ya'll do also. I don't know why God allows the enemy to continue to attack you but I do know The GOD that with one touch can totally heal you. And that is the prayer we continue to pray for you. May 2006 give you the MIRACLE that we are all praying for you. God Bless you and KEEP you in HIS GRIP.

Roger, Debbie, & Family,

We are always so glad to get an update from you guys. We think of and pray for you so often. We have watched you from day one with the Gaithers and have seen you in person a number of times. You all are the ones fighting this battle but you are such an awesome encouragement to everyone who reads your journal.

We know that you know our Heavenly Father holds you tight in His arms ... He is your Abba Father...your "Daddy" and you can crawl on His lap like a little child .... oh what a promise and blessing for all of us!! Praise His holy name!!
We have two in our immediate family with cancer right now; my nephew, 24 newly diagnosed with testicular cancer and my husband, 72 has been fighting non-Hodgkins lymphoma and right now is at high risk for AML and he is no longer a candidate for aggressive chemotherapy. We are familiar with the ups and downs but we know that our Heavenly Father is in control!!

God bless you and your family. We love you and are praying for you. Keep the "posts" coming. We love being updated. Until next time.........Our love and prayers!

Happy New Year to the Bennetts,

My new year has gotten off to a great start...Jan 6 is a travel day for Roger and I will be there with joyful tears to see you walk on stage Friday night. This was wonderful news.

I truly hope that 2006 will be the year that your cancer is put to rest and you will be able to get back to a normal life. I guess by now you wonder what normal is but I know it won't include Houston on a regular basis.

You all travel safe! What a blessing Friday night will be!

Love and God's continued blessings,
Judy Hicks

Bernie and Terry Shirkie

How fortunate you are Judy Hicks! I don't think there will be a dry eye in the place when that special man comes on stage!! From Terry Shirkie

Dear Roger:
I haven't written since your last return to Houston. My prayers are with you always. May 2006 be a year of miracles for you!

Just as you have gone through rough times when you have lost friends, this has been a difficult week. Over five months ago, a church friend was in Portland, OR (not home here in California)when he was hospitalized with a ruptured abdominal aneurysm. He has been in ICU up there since that time with his wife at his side. Last week he was taken off life support and he died Monday. This has been traumatic for his immediate family and his church family. We do give thanks for God's comforting arms and the strength He will give during this time.

So glad to hear that you will be with Legacy V on Friday. It will be a great night!.

What I'm Reading Right Now

  • Ron Mehl: What God Whispers in the Night

Ron Mehl: What God Whispers in the Night
Ron Mehl is a hero that I never met. A friend gave me this book a couple of years ago and it really touched me. Ron was suffering with Leukemia and had written several wonderful books before this one "Whispers" really got to me. The main thought is why is it that God who IS light, who created light, does so much of his work in the dark? The answer, because that's where WE are. We struggle in darkness, our weakness is more pronounced in the darkness and we feel so alone in our darkness. But....God is not intimidated by the dark! He invades it and speaks to us there! You should read this book asap. (*****)
